Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) is a government-funded program that distributes Food Stamps and cash benefits under the Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) program to recipients via direct payment cards. These cards can be used at ATMs or merchant's Point-of-Sale terminals.
